I've heard he asked some singer...maybe Englebert Humbperdink's..(You mix metaphors and I can't spell) about his father, (an old friend of Ed's) how he was doing... Englebert, or whatever his name was, replied "He's fine." Soooo..when "The Show of Show's started," Ed ask that humbback..(maybe you swim with him) If his father was still alive...Completely screwed the whole line up. Dingleberry sat there with his mouth open...(I added that last part for drama.)
