Jozef said in reply to this: stating he doesnt want to get involved in incidents such as Bosnia that may be the moral thing to do, but instead only if it involves american self-interest. I find that view appalling. America must stay involved in world affairs.

And you replied: So that Canada doesn't have to?

Obviously you havent paid much attention to the fact Canada has played a leading role in peake-keeping missions for the UN since the 1960's.. I think our first peacekeeping mission might actually have come after the 1956 Suez Crisis, which is why I believe Lester B. Pearson, a diplomat who eventually became Prime Minister, won the Nobel Peace Price.

We have been involved in world affairs regardless of the American view and will continue to do so.. it would be nice however if the world's strongest democracy and leader of the free world would also continue to be involved internationally. I'm not sure Bush will do so - in fact, I am certain he wont.. I expect him to do exactly what his father did.. which isnt much, unless he has to.
