" I noticed when I submitted my payment by e-mail that it was an unsecured transmission."

There are secure forms of email, but using your Netscape 4 or MS Internet Explorer 4 the website order form is secure but the email isn't. If you used out secure order form on the website you should not have gotten that message unless your browser is set up incorrectly. If you used email, then that is something we don't have any control over.

For general information, use of a secure (Verisign certificate or similar 128 bit encryption system) online is very safe. Essentially, when the order form is completed, the ordering system we use encrypts the package, opens a gate to its secure ecommerce server, and sends it there. The information is then processed on the Cybercash software which contacts First Data (or equivalent) for the merchant and client bank transactions. We never see the credit card number, nor does anyone else except First Data.
