[Rumor running wild]

I agree with all you say about Soros. Knowing what I know now, I'd never invest in anything he touches again, at least not until he's out.

If you're curious about today's stock action as compared to Westell's read on:

Today Punk Ziegel put out a press release that said, "There has been speculation recently that one or more . . . customers could soon announce a significant contract with Westell." Among the companies listed as being in trials with them was GTE, USWest, Bell Atlantic, and British Telecom. The rumor had been circulating for some time and the phone call I got had it narrowed to an exaggerated, "Westell's won GTE!"

After I peeled myself off the floor, I phoned Amati and was told it was highly unlikely --- "We've got a guy there; it would be hard for that to happen." A rumor of this magnitude would certainly explain the divergence in the two stocks the last two days.

Remember when I used the analogy of the Normandy Invasion? Little did I know it would turn into something akin to real war. Someone point me to the DMZ. I need a break.

Regards,

Pat
