>>I will probably get flamed for these comments in view of the mostly positive emotions for this stock.<<

Not on positive emotions, Fact!

>> I now think CAP will win by getting mass deployed first, less power consumption, and better real world performance. I hate to have sold my Amati stock, but I honestly feel Amati is not headed anywhere long term.<<

mike -

>>"better real world performance"<<

April Fool Right?

>>A friend showed my a well written paper outlining CAP technology versus DMT. I had never quite seen it from that perspective, but it shed new light.

I'd like to see the paper, and please shed some of that light on myself and others, what is this magicial formula?

I've read a number of reports, My "Why DMT" post #7019 was based on them. Write BT a note, ask them to send you information on ADSL. You won't get much but it's all you need.

>>CAP win<<

Where?

How many lines are in the U.S.? Even if they through the standard out the window, shall we split CAP/DMT 50/50?

Where is CAP going overseas? Not Europe, ETSI says no, in no uncertain terms! Japan? NEC has 80% of the Set-Top-Box (STB) Market there.

Last time I checked there were 550 million more lines in the world..

OK now tell me about the CAP CODE Copper Virus, that weaves it's way across all copper switches and connections and allows only CAP to Broadcast..

Hey it as believable as >>" better real world performance."<<

Amati has the Anti-Virus, it's called "the ETSI ANSI standard"

"If there is truth in networking, as opposed to truth in business, then only a debate on issues will find it. Isn't it more important to understand the benefits of a technology than it's politics? If vendors at loggerheads over an issue in the IETF, and if that stalemate is stalling forward motion, let's debate the issue. If there's no substance to it, then it's time to start looking for ulterior motives."

A quote from a NetworkWorld article by Nolle president of CIMI Corp., a technology assessment firm. Article title:

CISCO: The new company we love to hate

Substitute IETF with T1E1.413.

Good luck in the CAP Camp.

I have a stake in WSTL, but not for CAP reasons.

Sure are good buying opportunities these days eh?

Increased my position a few weeks ago, thanks, I was wondering who's shares I got.

Their safe until Xmas 98, unless I hear DMT deteriorates copperwire..

CSCO :^))

Happy Easter
