This is another place where Apple and Microsoft differ.

Apple has taken elements from iOS and put them into OS X, and the elements they've borrowed make sense in the desktop environment. But Apple clearly understands that different kinds of devices need different interfaces, to some extent.

I don't want a tablet that runs the full version of OS X, and I don't want my desktop OS to work exactly like my iPad and iPhone do. There are small but significant differences between the same apps on my iPhone and my iPad, which is as it should be.

Unsurprisingly, Microsoft doesn't seem to get this.
