No, I don't accept that it should be "expected" that charging time goes up. Unless there is an increase in battery running time, the charge time should not go up by a noticeable amount.

So you would give up retina, 4G and faster performance for shorter charge time and the same battery life? Should have gotten the iPad 2 and saved $100.

There are always tradeoffs. Charging speed, IMHO is a really tiny trade off.
