there have been instences in which the SAUDI Government and police have killed prisoners and refused acess by Americans to interview known terrorist's. There was one instence in which the Saudi's could have captured the most renowned terrorist in the world before Bin ladden and warned him instead, by diverting his plane. the Saudi's have yet to allow US millitary operations from their Bases in SA. The Saudi Government is the issue, they are no more are allies then the Iranians. The only difference is the SA need US to save their ass if they screw up. They know whom and where the terrorists are, but are to scared to side with the USA(as they should be in fear of revolt). As for your IRA statement thats ridiculous, if American nationals were blowing up buildings in Brittain the USA would imidiatly do whatever it could to aid the brittish in rectifying the situation. They would not kill material witness's or allow terrorists to go free. The best move for America is to spend however much money it will cost to eliminate OIL as a nessesity in the west. This will allow the US to allow these animals to fight amongst themselves for their camel dung laden worthless(without oil)desserts, and societies. I have said, even before this attack that the Arab nations are in a Dark ages much as Europe once was. They produce nothing of value(besides oil. Not politicaly, artisticly, inteligently. NOTHING. They gravitate to Extremism because of the lack of any meanigfull contributions their nations make to the world. Its better to be noticed for something bad then nothing at all. I feel for the Arab people because it is their Governments bent on the status quo of cheap American prostitutes and bentleys, and seaside villas in Cannnes that prevent their society from moving in a positive direction
