It does strike me as somewhat amusing, karen, that you, whom I think usually supports the Government spending less, not more.

When did I say or suggest that I support the government spending more? I'm quite sure I didn't.

If you recall, the extent of our colloquy was whether or not Bush approves of the private funding of embryonic stem cell research. You opined "yeah" and I opined "nay."

I would have said that it strikes me as "amusing" that you concluded from that that I support more government spending, but it doesn't so I had to forego the segue. <g>

If the Government does manage to give more millions of dollars to this, who do you think it should go to?

If there is to be government spending on anything, and there surely is, then I think that spending should be as effective as it can be. Effectiveness would include the elimination of artificial barriers.

What would give us any great confidence that the Congress could even do this correctly?

As always, I'm hard pressed to imagine Congress getting much of anything right. But that doesn't stop them.
