Well, if she didn't set off the metal detectors and didn't otherwise set off their warning bells, she's no different, in theory, than anybody else. Terrorists look like anybody else. It doesn't seem likely to me that they'd dress conspicuously, but that's just a guess.

I go through metal detectors all the time, it's par for the course at my job. My husband, who works for a federal agency, goes through a metal detector several times a day.

I've never triggered the more complete search, just the "take-off-your shoes-and-turn-on-your-laptop."

And the whole time I am thanking them. "Thank you very much for all you do to help make me safer. I appreciate it."

Even if you don't like it, at least maintain your self-respect and exhibit respect for others.
