I've read a couple times now, that a pre-release earnings guidance
by Ascend mgmt will bring the stock down, or at least prevent
an upswing in stock price. It seems to me that the consensus is
that Ascends has two immediate problems: 1) potential earnings shortfall for the current quarter, and 2) no "credible" guidance from
management. Unless they pre-release with estimates below flat
(I believe last quarter was .32 ???) or below current analyst
estimates (.30 -.32 ??), isn't point 1 already priced in, and point
2 is mitigated. I don't understand why a pre-release is necessarilly
going to drive this stock lower. Why not higher?
