Profiles are not just demographic. They also involve behaviour, clothing and luggage. The winter jacket in July, a nervous look with sweating, backpacks and other carry-ons, avoiding eye contact with security officers or grouping together are all examples.

If all we did was profile ME men 18-34 - then they would respond with 17 and 35 year olds - or blond, blue eyed dupes.

However, the elephant in the room is that while both the dark skinned ME and the tall blond norwegian are potential terrorists - the most likely candidate has been for quite a while - the dark skinned ME male.

Now lets go back 20-30 years and look at the IRA. Did the British look at ME men? No, they looked at men of Irish decent and those frequenting Irish pubs and bars. Calls to and from Ireland were tapped.
