There is no doubt that AMD isn't having any problem with their own Pentium class processor, but that's for the same reason they aren't having any yield problems: they have yet to produce a single damn chip of that caliber and unless we can score arm-waving or the glib comments of the CEO then there is nothing to point a finger at. This game they are playing will soon end and AMD will have to come clean about actual shipping dates. More likely than not, they will be forced to disclose the actual clock speed and then try to explain in layman's terms that it doesn't really matter that they are slower and that they require motherboard rework to use.

There's Hertz and there's not exactly hardly does justice to the canyon that exists between these two companies. If AMD ever turns a profit their stock may actually be worth something. Unfortunately they only seem to be good at loosing money.
