I would venture to say they need only charge what it cost to produce and production cost would include everything and anything involved in producing, marketing and distributing the product. That is, they are in a position to cut the price of their 200 Mhz or less products in 1/2 should they want to. They certainly don't need to but it would not be that significant a move given the broad spectrum of products they have and given the imminence of their next generation of 400 Mhz systems. Such a move would not effect AMD much either because they are rather used to not making even one plugged nickel for the shareholders. Hey, as long as they get their paychecks, AMD does not care about making money.
