Muslims are not a racial group. Like Christians, they come in a great variety of skin colours and nose lengths. Islam is a religion, and what distinguishes the Muslim from the non-Muslim is his greater or lesser adherence to that religion. Excellent point. It does seem that the biggest predictor of jihadism is whether the person attended a madrassa as a teen or young adult, so kudos to Musharref for throwing out foreign students attending Pakistani madrassas. (I hypothesize that men who attended madrassas at a young age never acquire sufficient Westernization to make them useful as jihadis.)
