Nadine, don't you think 33% is a high enough tax for our best and brightest performers? What do you hope to accomplish by overly penalizing this group? If the 33% GWB proposes is not high enough for you, are you satisfied with the current 39%? When should it stop. Your own argument of "the wealthiest 1% of tax payers, who pay 21% of the tax bill" tells me that they pay their share and more. Should they pay 50 times their share of the taxes? I think 21 times is plenty generous.

The whole demo position of penalizing people who do well is flawed. It gets them votes, but does not help society. The continued and reinforced message that the lower-waged part of America cannot make it without help from the government HURTS everyone. Can't you see that?
