Dan,

First I would like to take this chance to thank you and the rest of all the Zer's for helping me to improve my trading/investing tremendously, and wish you all a prosperous 1998.

As to 98 portfolio as so typicaly we see things a bit differently. (isn't that a suprise GGGGG)
Which is one of the things I feel make the tread work so well. All of us sharing our different views.

my thoughts for not using margin is that we could have also bought all the dow stocks using margin and guarenteed killing the Dow, provided it was up for the year. So the way I see it is to have beaten the dow by 50% we would have had to be up 55%+ for the year.

On Stops I agree that a fixed % isn't the way to go, however I'm a firm beleaver in the use of them and should be set based on the price & type of stock. a low price stock or a volital stock might use 10 or even 20% for a stop depending, were as higher priced stock or a less volital one might only need 5-10%.

Just my 2 cents

Darth
