Sprint to acquire Hawaii PCS from PrimeCo October 13, 1998 10:10 PM
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct 13 (Reuters) - Telecommunications company Sprint Corp. said Tuesday it agreed to acquire PrimeCo Personal Communications LP's personal communications services license and operations in Hawaii.
Terms of the proposed transaction, which requires regulatory approval, were not disclosed.
Purchase of the operation, which was initiated late last year, would allow Sprint to offer wireless service to consumers and businesses in Hawaii.
PrimeCo Personal Communications is owned by AirTouch Communications Inc. ATI and Bell Atlantic Corp. BEL and provides digital wireless services in Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
Sprint PCS is a partnership of Sprint, Tele-Communications Inc. TCOMA , Cox Communications Inc. COX and Comcast Corp. CMCSA .
