DoubleClick's Financial Chief
To Resign, Remain as Adviser
A Wall Street Journal Online News Roundup
NEW YORK -- DoubleClick Inc. said its chief financial officer, Stephen Collins, will step down from his position Friday.

Bruce Dalziel, vice president of finance and operations for the technology, data and research businesses, was appointed acting finance chief. Mr. Dalziel, 43 years old, joined the company a year ago after 14 years at Prudential Insurance Co. of America.

Mr. Collins, 35, said he is resigning to "spend more time doing some things I never got to do, like cycling, spending time with family, and maybe even going to cooking school." The five-year veteran of the Internet-advertising firm plans to continue working on projects at the company until March.

Chief Executive Kevin Ryan said he isn't conducting an outside search for a chief financial officer. "Right now, we're keeping our options open," he said.

In the face of a declining Internet-advertising market, DoubleClick has been making a series of acquisitions in an attempt to diversify. But analysts said that the new lines of business will take time to produce results.
