Bill, as it is your rant, why don't you pick apart each of the things you listed, telling what the top 50% of each one of the different bills and items you think should be there, and the bottom 50% you don't think should be there. For instance, take your term "How about public broadcasting and the NEA? " You aren't implying that PBS is part of the NEA are you? Personally, I'm not sure why we are giving money to most of PBS from a Federal Government level. Possibly there are grant moneys available that are funded by the Feds....but the grants could be funded by a Foundation perhaps... What specifically is the PBS Federal "Donation".....? Do you know? And what is the Fed Govt giving the NEA? Specific amount... And WHY? For me, I don't know why they would be giving them money...and unless I knew the specifics, I too, would give them a ZERO budget from the Fed Govt... And re your comment: How about eliminating the $60 Billion Dept of Education? Are you really serious....?????
