Jeff,

On May 8 RAIN closed at 32.Nine trading days later it closed at 45+ on the 21st.
That's over 40% gain or 5% a day.Events that impacted on RAIN during this period were:

1)5/8 Q report of .05 EPS
2)Twice chart published in IBD and Fortune story
3)5/21 announcement of 3 for 2 split and same day announcement of 5 NEW restaurants
in1997 including a second in Las Vegas (and also second in Disneyworld) and New York
City.
4) 5/15 filing of 10k
5)Announcement of early June opening in Gurnee.

Given the amount of insider trading that goes on in small issues and the "current wisdom"
that long term, splits don't affect the growth of a stock one way or the other then maybe
some short term traders (and insiders) are tading advntage of the run up.
40% is alot of growth on the tangible basis of .05 EPS.
To me the acid test will be its success or failure at Disney( and since they are already
planning a second Cafe there ,Lyle must be pretty confident.
I did encounter some gripes about the underwriters of the stock on a newsgroup in April.

At any rate if you come in to Chicago, let me know and I'll buy you lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. .

Dennis
