Identix Announces Live Scan Orders Totaling $500,000 From California Department
of Justice and Major US Bank

Cal DOJ Currently Deploys More Than 600 Identix Live Scan Systems

LOS GATOS, Calif., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Identix Incorporated
(Nasdaq: IDNX) today announced that it has been awarded a contract from the
California Department of Justice (Cal DOJ) to provide 11 TouchPrint(TM) 2000
Live Scan Systems and two TouchPrint 2600 Applicant Fingerprinting Systems.
Cal DOJ now has more than 600 Identix Live Scan Systems deployed throughout
California. According to Identix Executive Vice President Worldwide Sales
Valerie Lyons, the DOJ will use the 13 additional Live Scan systems for law
enforcement agencies or probation agencies throughout the state to assist
agencies in fingerprinting via live scan adult and juvenile offenders,
including those who were previously cited and released without being
fingerprinted. The Company also said that a major US-based bank has purchased
two TP 2000 Live Scan Systems to assist the Bank in rapid processing of
temporary employee background checks. All of the Live Scan systems are
expected to be installed in Identix' fiscal 2002 second and third quarters.
The total value of both contracts is approximately $500,000.
California Department of Justice Assistant Bureau Chief Louise Knedel
