You asked about Dial Data. Here is what I can read in subscription information found within Wall Street Analyst SE (Special Edition, downloaded from the Internet):
Flat monthly rates for unlimited symbols, including EPS, dividends and stock splits:
Stocks, with up to 6mo. history: $16.99, stocks and indexes: $21.98
stocks and indexes with 2 years history: $30
stocks, stock options, indexes, Index options, and DeLuxe MarketGuide fundamental data: $60

6 month history is enough if you have the CDs.

Looks like Quotes Plus is much cheaper, as you said.
