Yes it sure looked fishey. Trouble is even if you wanted to buy more at that level(yes it crossed my mind) those sort of actions always tend to freeze you and before you know it the ask is back up. I think the party that buys the 500 shares at the close will have to file something soon as they must be nearing the 5 or 10% level. Who are they kidding with that?
