Amen. I heard two hours this morning on my otherwise fallen and disgusting TV that truly inspired me. Adrain Rogers spoke on healing from Romans.
Quickly, the purpose of prayer is to tap into God the Father. This is all done as we know in Jesus, and by Jesus and through Jesus. the Holy Spirit tells us the MIND OF GOD IN THE MATTER. It is for the mind of God that we are supposed to be praying for. Then, God can set what HE WANTS TO DO IN MOTION, under Free Will and Human Choice barriers He has otherwise.
BUT.j Good point-- Many of us are forced to pray to Bless the Mess. For ourselves, and those we have created by our being out of the will of God in the first place. Of that I am acutely and horribly and embarrassingly expert in such knowledge of how that works.
Do not be discouraged when this does not happen--i.e., the mess is actually blessed after all. Then, of course, I say turn the lemon into a fine lemonade through prayer for lemonade.
And of course, to give thanks for the prayers not answered, which might have been to our personal destruction. Fabulous hour. Blinding clarity of the scriptural meaning. Beautiful, annointed music such as I haven't heard in years, also. Interesting.
This was so rich a teaching I am sending for the tape and when I get it I'll send it on to all interested. |
