Ashley800, Re: Internet Valuations
Last weekend I took the time to analyze projected earnings, PE, ROE, PS, and PB for some 77 internut stocks. The dismal results are the same reason most of us FA types stayed away from AOL, YHOO, etc. Yet, at the same time, our personal use of the internet was significantly increasing; to say nothing of the price of AOL, YHOO, etc.
You ask the question after you note that you bought (and I presume are happy with the results of MALL. MALL is projected to lose .51 next year. AMZN is projected to lose 1.71 next year. Most of the PE and ROE ratios on the internuts are "not meaningful" or in the stratosphere. Most of them have PB and PS ratios higher than typical PE ratios.
Clearly, you don't buy the internuts on the basis of FA. The only justification is that we know that this is the future of commerce. Will netradio be part of that future? Who knows!
I bought 3K shares at an average of 15 1/2. When the stock broke $12, I posted "Blub, Blub, Blub". It was clear that the only short term direction after that was down and it was anyone's guess as to where. I very rarely average down. I'll make an exception in this case -- once the stock shows signs of recovery.
Hope this helps.
