(misc. LSI comments)

(LSI has rich option plans that's why you don't see huge purchases, it is best to look at the trend for each company and see if there has been a change in buying/selling trend, the sales are 'off' because they are one of the very few with sizeable fabs in Japan and the Yen is dying, also they are just ramping up, IDTI is a bargain at these levels, Corrigan's buy is impressive relative to his annual compensation (the buy was roughly 2-3 times 1997 comp.), there have been more option related & other sales in early 1997 but it is not manic (for one the stock did not go ballistic!), R&D did not pay off in 1996 and 1997 - there is about a 2 year lag - the last 2 year's worth of high R&D will be paying off in 1998 and 1999 & later- as proof - the extended lead times, sure I would love to see more Insider buys, actually I was just about to look at the entire sector to see if there has been any pickup in buys, IDTI will likely do fine (better than AMD I think) with the new chip but I as a rule with INTC I am wary - INTC is just too good at killing competition, on the other hand IBM foundry agreement is a great thing for IDTI, but I would like to see how the SRAM things pays off as well)
