The "Sandies", Favorites of the Left

Remember when the Sandinistas of Nicaragua were the darlings of the American Left? I do.
In fact, as a young USAF Security Policeman—SPs are, in addition to being cops, the USAF's infantry trigger pullers—I remember our regular deployments to Central America in the 1980s to, uh, do things the Sandies found...inconvenient. I also remember Democratic party pols like David Bonior and John Kerry going down to Managua to trade hugs with "El Commandante", Daniel Ortega.

Well, Daniel Ortega is now facing some legal trouble.
The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights has
reinstituted an old complaint regarding crimes against
humanity against former Nicaraguan President Daniel
Ortega and other Sandinista leaders, a legislative source
said here Monday.
Daniel Ortega is a war criminal. Not that that's any surprise. Most Commie leaders were guilty of crimes against humanity, and deserve to be whacked. I'd be more than happy to pull the trigger on Commandante Ortega myself.

And I have no forgiveness—none—for the Democrats who were so keen to cozy up to the Sandinistas while they were in power, like John Kerry. At best they were useful idiots and apologists for tyrants and murderers.
