THE RIGHT WAY TO APOLOGIZE

By Michelle Malkin

I criticized Bob Novak's behavior last night. Now, he deserves some praise. Here's the latest AP dispatch on the B.S. brouhaha:

<<<

Robert Novak apologized Friday for swearing on the air and walking off a CNN set, but said it had nothing to do with the federal probe sparked by his revelation of a CIA officer's name in a 2003 column.

"I apologize for my conduct and I'm sorry I did it," he said in an interview.
>>>

Every political figure in Washington should commit the Novak apology to memory for future use--no ifs, ands, or buts. Contrast Novak's unequivocal words of contrition with the sorry weasel non-apology apologies of Dick Durbin, Catherine Baker Knoll, Linda Foley, Jane Fonda, Kevin Shelley, and Armstrong Williams.

I'm sure you'll remember many others.
