If you bought 20,000 shares of this stock at .80=16,000

to average down(which I think is a good idea--not necessarily on this stock yet)you would wait untill the price settles a little than purchase another 20,000 shares at the then lower price of say .40=8,000

so your total # of shares is now 40,000 and your total cost is 24,000
bringing your total cost average to .60 a share---so if the price goes up to .80 again you make .20 a share on the 40,000 shares even though the price has just gone back to where it was originaly

a little to slow
