Yiwu: It speaks a great deal of the character of people, as yourself, who refuse to acquiesce in the face of diversity. I will be very interested to see what national leaders will ascend from such circumstances.

Also, you say that you do not often see "insightful comment about China...in this country." What is at fault for this is too lengthy a subject too be addressed in this forum. And, to be sure, there are some very prominent as well as selfish reasons for it. Most prominent among them is probably politics, and the overriding element of confrontation that too often is the result of any interaction between two very dissimilar political systems.

And yes, there are other nearly unspeakable reasons. Yet, don't be entirely dis-spirited. Know that there are those of us who endeavor to inform the uninformed and ill-advised, and hope that the sinister elements that are surely alive in all societies are not permitted to prevail.
