Companies Team to Provide Wireless System Offering Real-time
Financial Information; Reuters Marketclip Ports Stock Quotes to
the Palmpilot Via the Minstrel Modem

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 1998--Novatel Wireless,
Aether Technologies International and Reuters America have joined
forces to provide PalmPilot(TM) users with wireless access to
real-time financial information for U.S. equities through the
Minstrel(TM) modem from Novatel Wireless.

Reuters MarketClip, an interactive wireless financial system
available on 3Com's PalmPilot, provides users with instant access
to the information that they need most--stock quotes, charts,
market summaries, volume and price alerts and news headlines.

Developed in cooperation with Aether Technologies LLC, an
integrator of high-end wireless data systems, Reuters MarketClip
provides the mobile professional investor with the information
they need and the flexibility they demand. Reuters MarketClip
allows users to access unlimited information for a flat monthly
fee of $115.

Novatel's Minstrel Wireless IP Modem, a lightweight modem cradle
custom designed for the PalmPilot, provides wireless access to
Reuters MarketClip's PalmPilot users. Using cellular digital
packet data (CDPD) technology and the standard Internet Protocol,
Minstrel equips the PalmPilot with two-way wireless data
capability at speeds up to 19.2 kbps.

CDPD provides advanced encryption and verification techniques to
ensure secure, confidential communications.

Available in March 1998, Minstrel has an anticipated price of $399
plus activation fees.
With a built-in TCP/IP stack, Minstrel
can be used for custom application development or with third party
software applications utilizing the PalmPilot Professional's
TCP/IP stack.

"To be a successful member of the financial community, it's
imperative to keep on top of news and price changes the moment they
occur," said Aether Technologies President David Oros. "With
Reuters MarketClip, financial professionals and investors can
receive that mission-critical information in the palm of their
hand."

"We are very pleased to work with Aether and Reuters to provide the
wireless connectivity to the Reuters MarketClip/PalmPilot financial
tool," added Ambrose Tam, president of Novatel Wireless.

"Busy financial professionals rely on real-time data to make their
business decisions, and the Minstrel modem puts information at their
fingertips wherever they are - at the Stock Exchange, at a power
lunch or on the commuter train."

"Novatel's Minstrel modem gives Reuters MarketClip customers using
the Palm Pilot platform instant access to time-critical financial
information," said Sarah Dunn, executive vice president, Reuters
America. "Our subscribers will be able to use Reuters MarketClip's
wireless solution to access crucial information they need virtually
