Thanks. It is always interesting to read how others interpret your work. I believe Doug Short was bearish for the stock market for at least some of this time so he may hold some hard feelings towards ECRI. Also, he's a competitor of sorts so there is some normal one upmanship too.

I think the biggest mistakes Lakshman/ECRI made were under estimating what the Fed could to to stimulate job growth AND how so many will ignore all the people giving up looking for work helped the unemployment rate. If he just said it would be crappy for investing in new business for some time, rather than calling for an official recession and further job losses, then he would have been correct.
