Dear Scumbria:
You seem to have a continuing problem with saying one thing and doing another. First you insult people with claims that are untrue. When shown to be in error, you either go off on a tangent totally unrelated to the original discussion, restate the errorneous statement, or blast the messenger. You claim to be against oil exploration and fuel waste, but drive a fuel hog of a SUV. You claim to be against government waste, but not when your party does it. You want a great life but, deny it to others. You heap criticism and derision on others but, can't take criticism yourself. You like policies that distribute money, as long as it is not yours. You need power but, do not want a power plant or high tension lines near you. You want wilderness but, not if it inconveniences you. You state that you do not want your kids to pay but, stop policies and reforms to do just that.
I know you do not like to hear it but, you are part of the problem. I do not like all that George W. Bush does. I do not call him an idiot or moron because he does it. I am more interested in results, and actions. Results take time, Clinton had his time but, Bush is just starting. I do not like Bush Executive Order to ban money to abortion. I think it is wrong. The Faith and Community Office could be a good idea.
The Church/State separation I think is taken to too far an extreme. So long as the program pays for those parts that are secular like drug treatment and not the teaching of the faith, it is ok given, that there is no discrimination against any faith (so long as the practice breaks no other laws and is tolerant of other faiths and atheists) or secular organization (same applies). Checking to make sure that separation is maintained is a good idea (as always a good checking scheme should be inexpensive in time and labor). Time will tell on the results of his administration.
