REAL WORLD TECH NEWS ON AMD 760, ASUS A7M266

Posted by Dean Kent

Lost Circuits has posted a review of the
A7M266 Motherboard from ASUS that
sports the AMD 760 chipset. He has
informed me that AMD has never respun
their chipset to fix the 'noise problem'...
because it turns out to be a motherboard
engineering issue. Apparently, the
components used on the AMD reference
board were of much higher quality than
the standard components used by
motherboard makers(and therefore more
expensive). Using these same
components has fixed the problems for
ASUS, even on a 4-layer motherboard.
Whaddya know - you get what you pay
for ;-).
