fwiw, the Sunday Boston Globe has a roughly 1/4 page plus want ad for ASND looking for a lot of programmers. No exact number just looking for all skills, ATM/Frame Relay, IP Routing, WAN Switching Measurement, Sustaining Software/Hardware engineers, etc. Since this is apparently for Westford, MA. Old Cascade facility I am guessing. 2 positions on Long Island. The search for sustaining engineers seems important to me if one is planning a re-deployment of the engineering staff to important new development. If nothing else, it's at least not a lay-off notice in the Business Section.
