Kapkan, RE: "I don't know much about strategies of increasing number of shares one owns."

The strategy I mentioned increases shares in stocks not owned as well, i.e. increases diversification, (in addition to increasing shares in stocks already owned and generating cash.)

RE: "I think this is the wrong goal to have. My strategy is to generate cash every month."

It probably depends upon a person's needs. I'm young, so I prefer to be invested mostly in stocks.

RE: "This is money in the pocket here and now not some paper that may go up or down."

I prefer to take more risk for the opportunity of more reward. The short-term fluctuations don't bother me, provided I am working to take advantage of them. My long-term vision is that America's corporations are highly competitive and successful.

RE: "If I get called I will write more puts next month. If I get assigned I will write more calls."

Opposite yet similar strategy in some ways. Your focus is on acquiring cash, while mine is on acquiring stocks.

Enjoyed the exchange.

Amy J
