Whatever it is - We’re against it
By Seth Yantiss on The Loony Left Say Anything
A movie done by the Marx Brothers called “Horse Feathers” features a song called “Whatever it is, I’m against it.”, which was recently featured on some AM radio talk shows as the ‘Democrat theme song’.
Here’s the text of the song:
<<<
“I don’t know what they have to say, it makes no difference anyway. Whatever it is, I’m against it. No matter what it is or who commenced it, I’m against it.
Your proposition may be good, but lets have one thing understood, whatever it is, I’m against it. And even when you’ve changed it or condensed it, I’m against it.
I’m opposed to it. On general principles, I’m opposed to it. [he’s opposed to it]
For months before my son was born I used to yell from night to morn, whatever it is, I’m against it, and I’ve been yelling since my wife commenced it, I’m against it.” >>>
Often times, I feel like this is the driving principle behind some of our politicians and their happy followers. They don’t care about the reasons… they simply oppose anything presented by anyone who is not identified as one of them. And that, is sad!
Opposition to ideas is fine, if there is some substance to the opposition… If you oppose something, simply, because of who made the submission, then you should stand back and let someone else debate.
