Investment profs may not take the time to review the SPYG business model and how it has changed. Two years ago SPYG was the 'Mosaic' company, the one that allowed MSFT to jump into the pit with NSCP so quickly. I think there is a street consensus that SPYG is still just a 'Mosaic' company, and largely dependent upon MSFT alone for its future well-being. So my contention is that analysts decided to treat the earnings announcements as SPYG suddenly throwing in the towel and withdrawing from the race, rather than as an advance into a new area with 10 times much more potential than the PC industry.
