hj, sounds like new economy relativism to me. be careful, bro!

hj, a relative of mine made a killing on dell. she threw a wad down on dell at $5/$6 and road it threw the top and partially back down. she said she didn't want to sell b/c of the cap gains tax rate. i told her that if she kept holding dell, she may not have a tax obligation at all.

she thought i wasn't serious.

then there was my coworker who said csco (msft, orcl, ibm) was going to double and split 4 more times when it was $60 so he could retire wealthy.

when i figured those 4 companies would be worth the nation's gdp he wasn't fazed and said, "my cost basis on csco is $16. we'll NEVER see csco at $16."

ho ho ho ho. it ain't the school of hard knocks w/o hard knocks. ;-)
