i'm glad you didn't have to talk to the big guy..

only one blood relative of mine that i know of has died of cancer. the rest have lived longer than average, but more were afflicted with heart disease. like you, i'm trying to avoid that end.

high blood pressure was always an early indicator. i am watching my bp like a hawk. so far so good. there have been stressful times in my life where i couldn't get my systolic below 130.. once it lasted for a couple months. fortunately, it always returns to below 115.. the best bp reading in my life was a few days ago, 104/67.. that was taken late at night, sitting at rest for some time, and with meditative relaxation. i've had some readings that were slightly lower than the 104, but never together with the low diastolic.

i take a lot of supplements and i can't honestly say which ones work and don't. probably it is a combination of some. however, i feel reasonably sure that if i didn't take any supplements my bp would be high. high bp can show up even in one's twenties.

i may be taking too much C. i take 3 grams a day in divided doses. some people take much more without ill effects.. at least not yet. the C i take is in capsule form with bioflavinoids mixed in.

thanks very much for your input and man am i glad you have heart disease on the run. it is and inspiration me, as i fear it.

thanks again EC
