re: "What do you think are reasonable expectations for an exit point? ... Any suggestions? Any opinions about what Brinker might recommend?"

I believe the stocks represented by QQQ are mostly solid companies with real products, but they were overpriced by historical standards. I do not feel bad about holding them as longer term investments.

I remember two severe declines during my investing career. The first was in 1987 and the second was in 1991. While I had a lot less money in the market then, it was everything I had. In both cases, the market recovered in a relatively short period of time and went on to set new highs. The market usually overreacts on the plus and the down side. I am expecting the same thing will happen here for the broad market, althogh I am not expecting the NASDAQ to go back to its old highs soon.

Maybe it will be different this time. There does not seem to be a lot of negativity and things overall do not seem that bad.

My guess is though, that it will come back within a year.
I have no clue on an exit price. Just holding on tight and play it by ear.

Regarding Bob, he has said many times he does not believe in selling into weakness. Look how long he held Ultratec. From his posturing, I think he will base his reasoning on 30% or so from the bottom, wherever that is.
