Stop The Bias!
Recently, CNN agreed to air an advertising campaign for the radical pro-abortion group NARAL Pro-Choice America viciously attacking Judge John Roberts, yet has refused to air a pro-life ad featuring international humanitarian Mother Teresa, Foundress of the Missionaries of Charity.
NARAL pulled the ad due to protests from both Democrats and Republicans, along with liberal and conservative groups involved in the Roberts nomination, such as Fidelis, who called on CNN and NARAL to take down the ad.
The NARAL ad entitled "Speaking Out" stated that Judge Roberts supported an abortion-clinic bomber and made excuses for such horrific violence in a legal brief, even though NARAL admits that Judge Roberts called abortion clinic bombers "criminals" who should be prosecuted fully. The ad slandering Judge John Roberts has already been declared "false" by the non-partisan Annenberg Foundation's Factcheck.org website.
Blessed Mother Teresa lived her life caring for the poorest of the poor, transcending all religions and classes of people. Yet in 1998, CNN refused to air the 30-second television ad produced by Right to Life of Michigan which featured an interview with Mother Teresa commenting on important life issues.
Consider this:
CNN has taken the incredible step of holding out a double standard when it comes to advertisements related to the abortion issue.
CNN embraced an advertisement that was false thereby misleading their viewers.
CNN did not exercise sound journalistic standards and ethics. In the midst of the rapidly mounting criticism of CNN and NARAL, a CNN spokeswoman had the audacity to falsely claim Fox News and MSNBC were running the NARAL ads, forcing major media outlets to issue retractions of CNN's claims it reported.
It is shameful that CNN embraced the false NARAL ad that misled viewers, while violating their own alleged policy against running issue-based ads which they used to deny a commercial featuring the loving and charitable message of Mother Teresa. For CNN to then falsely claim their competitors Fox News and MSNBC were running the ad illustrates their vain attempt to conceal their bias.
