Standards for 56K technology are still a ways off. But modems based on Lucent's software-upgradable chip sets protect the investment of early adopters. Lucent's technology is DSP-based and inherently software upgradable, so it's easy to download new code to the modem to make sure it meets standards as they emerge. Apply K56flex technology today with the knowledge that it won't be obsolete tomorrow. Plus, it is backward compatible with V.34 and other analog modem technologies.
