there are literally at least 3700 parents in the US who are in the same situation that she is...all of them have lost a son or daughter in Iraq.

All of them have suffered a great loss, but the pain of that can be mitigated or exacerbated by whether or not the parent believes that the death was in a good cause or in vain.
