I have been reading this discussion on customer service here at SI and over there (at the Yahoo!) for the past couple of weeks.

I think its an important part of the value puzzle, but I do not think it is the major one.

For example, the returns line at Best Buy is very poor. I dread making any purchase there that I am not 100% certain will meet my need. CPU is not much better, but I have noticed a key difference recently. I have two CPU stores less than a mile apart. One will be closed someday I expect, and hope, as they finish CC restructure. One store is very poorly run, and the sales people less than polite. The other store is exactly the opposite. I wonder why. I think CPU is aware of the problems they have, and they are working to fix them. It just going to take a little time.

All this stuff about the PC being dead, well thats todays news. Tomorrow they will be telling us that americans will need two PCs per house as it has now replaced the TV in usage. The net will eat some sales, but CPU is going to get a piece of that too.

All they need to do is show that revenue will grow and the valuation will follow. I think thats exactly what they plan to do.

Good Luck
