kholt, Pork barrel politics is, unfortunately, an ingrained feature of both parties. I agree that there is far too much money wasted on projects that are totally not needed for the welfare of the citizens. It seems that a politician cannot keep himself in office unless he doles out the money to his district, and the President of either party, is guilty of the same tactics. It is a shame, but would take decades to get rid of it, and with the length of terms in office, I wonder if there will ever be anyone with the courage to put a stop to it.
