And the Dems are dominated by the leftie loons for this election, by all appearances. When you are in a minority position, and get down to the hard core, this happens on either end. The California Republicans keep putting up social Conservatives that are way out of tune with the Calif voters, instead of Libertarian Conservatives that could have a chance to win. The result is a Democratic mess in California. The Dems did this against Nixon in 72 and were routed. The DLC knows this, and is trying to get to a center position. But the core left does not want to listen. The Dem primaries will tell the tale.
