re: Nokia on the Recent Tragedy

From the Nokia website:

>> All of us at Nokia are stunned and deeply saddened by the recent tragedies in the United States. We extend our sympathies and condolences to the victims and their families from the United States and abroad who have been affected. Our thoughts are also with those who are working tirelessly in the recovery and rescue efforts, and to those who are helping to alleviate the suffering and protect the public.

We are also working closely with our logistics and business teams to insure that business runs smoothly for our customers, employees, shareholders, partners and the rest of the extended Nokia enterprise.

Nokia has established, in coordination with the International Youth Foundation, a global Education Fund for the children that have lost a parent or parents in this unfortunate tragedy with an initial corporate grant of 1 million USD. Our rationale for this is simple; we need to do something that has a long-term and lasting effect. We need to think about the future.

Nokia and its employees are contributing to the American Red Cross as well as to the emergency relief efforts through donations of cellular phones, extra batteries, chargers and technology engineering expertise.

You too can provide support at www.redcross.org <<
