Here's a guy with an even greater resume than Krugman (so clearly resume isn't everything). In fact not only is his resume greater, but this man's work has made a huge impact (in a good way) on the lives of just about everyone in the developed world. His work towers over anything Krugman has or almost assuredly will ever achieve in his lifetime. For that matter you could lump all the Noble Prize and Clark award winning economists together, and (IMHO)their combined contribution would still be tiny compared to the impact that this man's work (for which he won a third of an award).

Yet, I believe that some of this giant's (and he was a giant) ideas are pretty "whacked". In fact you and JohnM might find common ground and BOTH agree - that some of this man's ideas were pretty "whacked".
